  • WELCOME

We are pleased to welcome you and your child to The Salvation Army Agincourt Temple Child Care Centre.

Our Early Childhood Education Centre is committed to meeting the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and moral needs of your child in a Christian atmosphere.  Each aspect of development is inter-related.  Every child in our centre is very special and will be given personal attention, by qualified staff, to grow in a happy, healthy and loving environment.

This parent handbook provides an outline of expectations with regard to parents, their involvement and the goals created to meet the needs of the children.

Its message is based on the Bible; its ministry is motivated by love for God and a practical concern for the needs of humanity.

  • HISTORY

The Salvation Army Agincourt Temple Child Care Centre first opened its doors in 1981.  The Child Care was originally licensed for 45 children ages 2 to 5 years. We are now licensed for 63 children between the ages of 18 months to 6 years, and 30 children between the ages of 6 to 12 years in our Before and After School Program.

    PHILOSOPHY

When each parent enrolls their child in our Centre, we make them aware that we are a Christian Day Care Centre.  Although we do not have a structured program in religion, we try to help the children develop spiritual attitudes in an incidental manner through our actions and reactions to the parents, the children and our co-workers.  Bible stories and songs are taught when appropriate to a particular theme.  Of course, great emphasis is placed on the true meaning of Christmas and Easter.  We also recognize and respect the religious beliefs of those who attend our Centre and encourage the parents to share with us some of their special celebrations.

Our environment must be a safe and clean one, free from hazardous situations so that the children, teachers and parents feel comfortable with the Centre.

The quality of the program is an important aspect of our Centre.  We feel that a quality program will enhance each child’s learning, vocabulary, socialization and play skills.  Our weekly programming is based on themes.  Through the curriculum, children are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace.
